The Partnership for Watauga's Future, in keeping with its mission of offering a full and fair exposition of facts, is sending short questionnaires to all candidates running for a seat on the Watauga County Commission, as well as to those seeking seats to represent the citizens of Watauga County in the North Carolina State House and Senate. This is the third election cycle in which the Partnership has conducted a survey of candidates for office
Both the original survey sent to all candidates, and all the candidate responses we have received are posted here.
Note regarding candidates for County Commissioner from the Election Board: "Every two years three of the five commission seats are up for election with the lowest vote getter serving a two-year term and the remaining two Commissioners serving four-year terms." Though candidates are nominated by district, voters vote for candidates of their choice, regardless of district.
